IN THE MORNING: THE REALITY OF MY BODY

I ate like crap! 

I ate like crap this whole week and went to the gym and didn’t regret it 🤷🏽‍♀️ 

It was a crappy week with crappy days and crappiness involved (sorry for the overuse of crappy)

But it was and I just didn’t feel motivated to eat right enough 

So I gave in and ate Starbucks and ate candy because halloween (is close) and ate outside food like three time this week

And I want to be honest because even though I talk about healthy eating that is not always what I do 

And sometimes I write to you guys and myself in order to remind myself of why I eat healthy 

 But this week was just a lot 

And I think I needed the crappy eating because I truly feel now like I can start eating right again 

It’s a roller coaster there will be lots of ups and downs but getting to a healthier you is possible 

Failing is bad and honestly sometimes it’s needed

I love working out and going to the gym it’s been a routine 

I’ve been so motivated to go but I also love food and I find comfort in it when I’m stressed 

And college is stressful so I eat LOL 

And I am okay

And I’ll continue to exercise and choice healthier options and eat better

And look at myself and see all the pretty parts of me 

Cause I do see change and I do feel better

So I am okay with a crappy week because I know a better one will come 🙂

IN THE MORNING: BODy POSiTive

HEllo all!! Happy Friday the 13th(spooky) and don’t step on a crack or you’ll break your mothers back 🙂

Okay only one corny joke per post I promise or I’ll try

But on to the topic of today which is body positivity

GUYS/GALS being body positive is such a big thing because its your confidence and it makes you who you are

Now I’m here to you whether your skinny, curvy, corky, short tall etc we are all some fire people

We can do anything we want and shouldn’t let our bodies be in the way of what we want to do

I used to body shame myself all the time and its true you are your own worst enemy/criticizers

But when you get passed that and see how much your worth then nothing matters and you don’t need anyone

I feel like because of social media and all these false photos, captions and people

Teenagers early 20s and females in particular feel the pressure to please certain people

I know this cause I do feel this pressure myself but I don’t let that affect me or make me think any different

So what I don’t have a boyfriend or I am not super skinny or I don’t have the longest hair

I still think I am a 10 and even though that might seem selfish for some, for me this is how I see myself and how everyone should see themselves

I saw this post that speaks to me in multiple levels because guys and people in general feel that bigger girls should just pick whatever guy they want because there are little options for us or because we might have low self esteem

But I am here to say curvy girls can get whatever guy they want and do not need anyone to tell them who they should and shouldn’t date,wear or be. And most of us aren’t even worry about that we just want a successful career and a happy healthy life!

So that was all a little rant but also something uplifting I hope you guys enjoy and have a great dia!

IN THE MORNING:Habits for EATS

HELLO!!! Today (when I am writing this) has been a long day but I wanted to write so here I am

I’ve been thinking about various things about healthy eating and body positivity and thought why not do a post about it so again here I am

I’ll share five healthy habits to always do that can get you dropping some pounds or can make you feel better.

And I am going to give you guys and gals very easy to do healthy habits because I know that some of us including me are very lazy and tend to steer away from anything that’ll take us more then 5 minutes.

Seriously these are extremely habits!

guys although I wish I was a doctor I am not and all these opinions are my own and my own experiences so they might not work for you as they worked for me 

Anyways five tips to a healthier you:

  1. Drink water! The easiest thing is to drink water with all your meal and drink a glass when you wake up. If your out and see these nice juices and sodas PUT IT DOWN! Water always in most restaurants its free and it’ll save you money !
  2. Substitute soda and juice with seltzer water or with tea. Now if your addicted to juice and soda (lets be honest with ourselves) you can do this slowly so say every Monday you’ll only drink water and tea instead of juice. And then as you progress you can make it two days, three days etc..
  3. Eat popcorn as a snack and up to one or two servings. Now I am not talking about that buttery popcorn you get at the movies or in the packs I mean popcorn like skinny pop(in love) or homemade if you have the energy.
  4. Get your serving of fruit in the morning. Yes cut an apple or grab some grapes and chow down. You have 1 to 2 servings of fruit already there.
  5. Make a smoothie and sneak in some veggies. Put a dash of carrot, spinach or kale in their and you’ll be set. An app that I really am loving lately is Daily Blends but they also have a website called Simplegreensmoothie. You can literally get any smoothie that your thinking of and if your running low on fruits and veggies they have a list you click through the stuff you have and it tells you what smoothies you can do YAY! (no I am not sponsored this app is just life)

IN THE MORNING: Healthy Eating

NOW DO NOT get me wrong I like a little junk food every now and then especially when I am stressed with school

BUT, that does not mean you can’t have some healthy eating in there too and I know for many of us

It must be hard to juggle having a semi-perfect life while also trying to be completely sane but it is possible and

I am just here to tell you about my struggles and failures and still (failing) but mostly winning in the healthy eating war

I’ve always loved fruit but hated vegetable and I was never one to pick the healthiest food as a child

so most time junk food was my life and I was completely fine with that

UNTIL I started to gain a bunch of weight and felt myself being tired all the time and to add to that I started to have stomach pain and issues

and I just decided okay I need to eat healthier

BUT what did that mean? to everyone eating healthier means different things because not everyone eats the same and in a (hypothetical) meter people have different types of healthy eating habits

To me however, it meant that I would make smarter decision I would eat the apple instead of the chocolate bar because it was healthier

I would eat or share the smaller chocolate bar because its less calories while also satisfying my eating habits

I would buy more vegetables and fruits instead of snacks when going grocery shopping

And thats fine everyone goes at their own pace and who cares what other people think of your healthy eating

As long as you are doing realistic healthy choices

For me I knew cutting out all junk food was not realistic because eventually I would give in and eat it

BUT just moving toward healthier eating is a step and a big one so be proud wherever your at in the healthy living cause its great and exciting and it can also suck

but most times its great and you won’t regret it!

IN THE MORNING: PrOTECT that SKiN

Welcome to October!!! Its time for many things like Halloween (hands down my favorite holiday) but also my next segment of randomize!! YAY. This is the skin,body and health edition:))  Hope you’ll enjoy

So the weather is getting much colder in New York which means for those that normally have dry skin or dermatitis  (yes like meee) its time to layer up BUT correctly

Now, just so you know this is what works for me and what I tend to try to avoid when fall and winter are approaching because most times my skin will not cooperate with the weather

I’ll give you some insight on clothes,skin moisturizing and dealing with dry skin tips

First layering on clothing is essential when the cold is approaching so sweaters and long sleeves come right along

You want to avoid fabrics with wool or any itchy material because it will irritate your skin and it will not be nice. Look for shirts and sweaters with cotton or soft material. If you choose to buy stuff online just make sure that the material does not look itchy(if theres fabrics sticking out or if it look rough) but, there is always a risk with online shopping that you don’t get what you want.

With leggings again you want to avoid stuff that are itchy but also thick leggings are not always the best. They trap in the heat and this could make your skin itchy and dry so try to get some light weight leggings shirts, etc that trap in the heat but a still thin. Some great clothes for the cold are in Uniqlo, you can also look at H&m and forever 21 for some basics.

Skin and moisturizing go hand in hand if you have dry skin

If you want avoid dry skin you must moisturize!

With that being said buying a good lotion and oil for your skin is essential and also using the right products while your in the shower!

Personally I hate heavy lotion or pomades for my skin because they are like an extra layer on your skin however, they’re are great for your skin because it’ll lock in the moisture

I usually use Vaseline(yes good old cheap vaseline) in the winter times but for the fall I usually just get a heavier lotion like Nivea or Gold Bonds other favorites of mine are Cetaphil and the pomade of Nivea.

Layering your skin with oil gives you an extra protection for dry skin. You can use any oil but my favorite is avocado oil(yes I use the big bottle that I also cook with)(its a mutli-oil), almond oil and vitamin E oil.

So final thoughts layer your lotions/oil, make sure to get a good heavy brand and buy clothes that are kind to your skin.

IN THE GOOD MORNING: CURVY GIRLS

Well a little back story before I begin 

First let me just say I’m pretty late to the grey’s anatomy boat but this show is just too good I go through seasons so fast and now I’m up to season 7 Episode 16

Let me know whats your favorite season?

Anyways so when I was younger all my cousins were pretty skinny and I was always one of the curvier girls however in a Spanish household they consider you fat

I hadn’t realized till now that their was nothing wrong with the weight I had back then and that the influence your family has on you was tremendous 

Anyways I would always try these diets and try to lose those extra 20 pounds until I got to college 

And let me tell you when I got to college I gained so much weight probably like 40-50 pounds in a span of 2 years 

And it had a tremendous impact on me because again my family made sure I knew about the weight gain and my cousins were still skinny 

Now being the odd ball out is hard because you don’t feel worthy but a couple of weeks ago I’ve been having stomach pains (really bad ones) and I decided that I need to change my eating habits

And although I love food, I also love my life and I know that I have to do better for me and for no one else

And this took me a really long time to understand because before I would try to lose weight to get more guys to notice me or to get my family to be happy with the weight I was 

But now I realize that any change I make to my life is for me and has to be for me and to all the curvy girls that want to stay curvy DO IT! screw what anyone says!

Curvy girls can be fit and now all I want to do is eat better and become fit! 

Side note: Im LOVINGGGG how society is now loving curvy girls

IN THE NIGHT: Why stay with toxic people(the pros)

Although toxic people can be the worst kind of people to be around with and usually the advice would be to get rid of them 

I believe sometimes it is good to hold on to toxic people, Now this depends on what we decide are toxic people and what types of things we can handle and look past 

Not all toxic people are horrible at everything they do or are and they can have some good qualities in them 

SO I say this because sometimes we have to decide why we choose to leave toxic people and most times its because you are better off without them 

But if you see any potential in them or if you see yourself doing business with them then you should hold on to them 

And you don’t have to and I am not advocating for that but what I am saying is we should reconsider who we consider toxic and why 

And for things like businesses and growing together can we try to look past some of the stuff that people do and just try to be friends

BTW when I mean toxic I mean they can have different views then you that you don’t agree with or they work/act/think differently then you, I mean toxic in small amounts… amounts that one can handle 

BUT by all means if this people has nothing to give you and you cannot gain anything with this person then

IN THE MORNING: SKIN CAREE

So I have eczema since I was a baby and have had really dry hard to manage skin 

Apparently as you get older the eczema will start to go away and I am still waiting for that day 

Five realities of having extremely dry skin(and some tips/products on managing):

  1. Your friends ask you if you can go one day without moisturizing and the answer will always be no (always)
  2. You become very conscious of skin care and skin care products because this is basically your life now 
  3. Your friends come to you for advice on what lotions/body wash and perfumes to use because you’ve basically tried it all
  4. Everyone talks about how they love soaking in the water and taking long hot showers whereas your think about how to make your 5 minute shower 4 and if this will change anything 
  5. You start to experiment with different products because no doctor I do not want to smell like nothing for the rest of my life 
  6. BONUS: Your well aware of your body habits and when your skin becomes the driest (personally my skin reacts to drastic changes in weather like winter to summer)

Some tips for people like me who also have dry skin use a good moisturizing lotion I prefer Nivea,Vaseline or Aveeno 

Avoid long showers just don’t do it, you need all the moisture you have in your skin

Apply your lotion/medicine as soon as you get out the shower and pat dry!
