IN THE MORNING: THE REALITY OF MY BODY

I ate like crap! 

I ate like crap this whole week and went to the gym and didn’t regret it 🤷🏽‍♀️ 

It was a crappy week with crappy days and crappiness involved (sorry for the overuse of crappy)

But it was and I just didn’t feel motivated to eat right enough 

So I gave in and ate Starbucks and ate candy because halloween (is close) and ate outside food like three time this week

And I want to be honest because even though I talk about healthy eating that is not always what I do 

And sometimes I write to you guys and myself in order to remind myself of why I eat healthy 

 But this week was just a lot 

And I think I needed the crappy eating because I truly feel now like I can start eating right again 

It’s a roller coaster there will be lots of ups and downs but getting to a healthier you is possible 

Failing is bad and honestly sometimes it’s needed

I love working out and going to the gym it’s been a routine 

I’ve been so motivated to go but I also love food and I find comfort in it when I’m stressed 

And college is stressful so I eat LOL 

And I am okay

And I’ll continue to exercise and choice healthier options and eat better

And look at myself and see all the pretty parts of me 

Cause I do see change and I do feel better

So I am okay with a crappy week because I know a better one will come 🙂

IN THE AFTERNOON: Body Drama 

This post will be short because I’m doing this on my phone while I am in class

My computer has been messed up for two weeks and I’m so sad because I am probably going to have to pay to get it fix

However, I am just going to stay as positive as possible because it is not the end of the world

ANYWAYS HELLO EVERYONE!

I’ve been pretty sick this week and probably will still be sick for the rest of this week but I’ll talk about body drama

And I call this body drama because I feel like sometimes we look at our body and hate it and that’s okay because you can always change it

Sometimes I look at the scale or the mirror and just feel like my body isn’t changing fast enough

BUT ITS OKAY!

Our bodies work at their own time and we have to be weary of how we judge it

Let’s be happy for the little things like the fact you ate some fruits today

Or the facts that you picked up the vegetables instead of some junk food

Or if you ate junk food that you only ate a one instead of a ton

Let’s be happy for the things that we have and that we love and be grateful

Let’s be okay with a stretchies(stretch marks and our like bumps and bruises)

I love my body and you should too! No one is perfect no one can change in one day

Photoshop is real but life will always be there

And it’ll get better your clothes will fit better

Your body will feel better I promise 😊👌🏽

IN THE MORNING: Healthy Eating

NOW DO NOT get me wrong I like a little junk food every now and then especially when I am stressed with school

BUT, that does not mean you can’t have some healthy eating in there too and I know for many of us

It must be hard to juggle having a semi-perfect life while also trying to be completely sane but it is possible and

I am just here to tell you about my struggles and failures and still (failing) but mostly winning in the healthy eating war

I’ve always loved fruit but hated vegetable and I was never one to pick the healthiest food as a child

so most time junk food was my life and I was completely fine with that

UNTIL I started to gain a bunch of weight and felt myself being tired all the time and to add to that I started to have stomach pain and issues

and I just decided okay I need to eat healthier

BUT what did that mean? to everyone eating healthier means different things because not everyone eats the same and in a (hypothetical) meter people have different types of healthy eating habits

To me however, it meant that I would make smarter decision I would eat the apple instead of the chocolate bar because it was healthier

I would eat or share the smaller chocolate bar because its less calories while also satisfying my eating habits

I would buy more vegetables and fruits instead of snacks when going grocery shopping

And thats fine everyone goes at their own pace and who cares what other people think of your healthy eating

As long as you are doing realistic healthy choices

For me I knew cutting out all junk food was not realistic because eventually I would give in and eat it

BUT just moving toward healthier eating is a step and a big one so be proud wherever your at in the healthy living cause its great and exciting and it can also suck

but most times its great and you won’t regret it!

Slow and Steady wins the race ADIOSS!

IN THE : Why I Dislike Makeup/Beauty Trends

This is a random post for a random rant kind of day

Five reasons why I dislike makeup/beauty trends:

JUST an FYI its not that I hate the trends but these are just things that bug me out and might even bug you out

  1. Everyone(meaning beauty gurus or insta makeup guru or aspiring blah) swears by these oil or these brushes and I’ll tell you why I dislike it too and its because it unrealistic and what works for them might not work for you we all have different skin, texture, pigmentation etc… but saying that everyone that has tried it has gotten this magical skin is like hmmmmmmmm
  2. Everyone is starting to look the same and hey if your doing a cosmetic treatment for you go ahead but we should start to question why some beauty gurus are looking alike and start to remember that its good to be different
  3. This is just a personal hate of mine but NOSE HIGHLIGHTING now I do highlight my nose but some of the makeup I see while I scroll through my instagram/snapchat, the highlight on the nose is EXCESSIVE and it just looks too much and I get it if its for the occasional going out but everyday its just too muchhh
  4. Gimmicky teas and such and although they could actually work I think its best for the consumer to just have a balanced diet
  5. Everyone all of a sudden is a makeup artist and hey if thats what you want to do for the rest of your life don’t let me bring you down but not everyone can do makeup and the average person is also a self taught makeup artist

BONUS: Because I just remembered this while upload the picture OVER LINING THE LIPS

all I’m going to say about this is that we notice we can see it maybe not in pictures but when you hit that door outside we are aware

LOL sorry for this long rant guys this is just things that have been bugging me out for a while and I had to share let me know if I missed anything

IN THE MORNING: SKIN CAREE

So I have eczema since I was a baby and have had really dry hard to manage skin 

Apparently as you get older the eczema will start to go away and I am still waiting for that day 

Five realities of having extremely dry skin(and some tips/products on managing):

  1. Your friends ask you if you can go one day without moisturizing and the answer will always be no (always)
  2. You become very conscious of skin care and skin care products because this is basically your life now 
  3. Your friends come to you for advice on what lotions/body wash and perfumes to use because you’ve basically tried it all
  4. Everyone talks about how they love soaking in the water and taking long hot showers whereas your think about how to make your 5 minute shower 4 and if this will change anything 
  5. You start to experiment with different products because no doctor I do not want to smell like nothing for the rest of my life 
  6. BONUS: Your well aware of your body habits and when your skin becomes the driest (personally my skin reacts to drastic changes in weather like winter to summer)

Some tips for people like me who also have dry skin use a good moisturizing lotion I prefer Nivea,Vaseline or Aveeno 

Avoid long showers just don’t do it, you need all the moisture you have in your skin

Apply your lotion/medicine as soon as you get out the shower and pat dry!

IN THE EVENING: SUN

I’m currently in New York and it is HOT like super hot

Realities of disliking the summer:

  1. You find any available store that has air conditioner 
  2. Or you stay home under a fan 
  3. If you sever sunburns you drench yourself in sunscreen
  4. You wait till the sun goes down to go out 
  5. You decide if your even going to go out is it in a body of water or even is it worth it 
  6. Your realize you take cold showers more often 

Stay hydrated and put on some sunscreen!

IN THE NIGHT:Maintenance

Realities of maintaining:

  1. Maintain a relationship with just about anyone when your caught up in work and school is impossible 
  2. Maintaining a balance life is like maintaining your stress when your under pressure 
  3. Maintaining people who are high maintenance is just too much and you rather not do it
  4. Maintaining your sanity while you have your family in one ear and everything else in the other is basically making you insane 
  5. Eventually you realize that you can’t maintain everything and instead just prioritize things 

I say this because I feel like eventually everything includes maintenance relationship, health, body, work, school etc.. and we don’t realize that maintaining something is very valuable.
